The black bear is a mysterious and, above all, a rather secretive animal. This large mammal can easily be conditioned to go to a precise location each day to get food. This way, the Pourvoirie du Lac Dégelis offers two bear hunting sites that are baited several days before the hunt arrives to familiarise the animal with the location of the these sites. Usually, males can weigh up to 135kg and females approximately 70kg. Many specimens killed in Dégelis had an exquisite white mark on the bottom part of their throat adding to the beauty of their spring coat.
